In an attempt to better my health I’ve been juicing. Oh, I’ve juiced a time or two but never on a regular basis. I’ve made it a self-care goal to juice at least four times a week. If I don’t give myself a measurable goal like that it tends to become a we’ll-start-that-on-Monday deal and the next thing you know, weeks have gone by and not one juice was consumed.
I had watched the movie Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead 2 on Netflix the other day so I pulled out the recipe Joe Cross started with, his Mean Green juice.
It’s a green juice made mostly of veggies but contains apples, lemon, and ginger too! So it’s not a bad one for juicing newbies.
My grandson was quite interested in the whole process when I started juicing and he asked for some juice once the whirl of the machine stopped. I put a bit in his glass and he took one look and immediately said, “Yuck!”
In her mothering wisdom, my daughter told him it was Hulk Juice! You could see his thoughts process across his face. He likes the Hulk. It was green. Made sense.
He drank it down! Score one for the health team!
Anyway, here’s the recipe for Hulk Juice!
Ingredients:
- 1 Cucumber
- 4 Celery Stalks
- 2 Apples
- 6-8 Kales leaves (or small handful of pre-cut)
- 1/2 Lemon
- 1 Tbsp Ginger
Direction:
- Wash all produce well
- Peel the lemon (optional)
- Juice
Enjoy!
